This is my official video from RAW:Awakening event in February:
And I keep posting pictures from this and other art events on my Facebook page, please visit and have a look if you are interested. And by the way, my current exhibition, In Depth, will be running at Blueroom Cinebar (151 Baroona Rd, Paddington) until mid-June, you are welcome to see my recent paintings there!
My new exhibition, In Depth, will open 13 April 2014 at 2 pm! The venue again is Blueroom Cinebar, tickets for the opening are $25 and include a drink and a movie, some fine food will also be provided. The movie is going to be Tracks, an Australian adventure drama, and a donation will be made from the proceedings to a health research foundation.
You are very welcome to come and see my recent works, including abstracts, nature-inspired semi-abstracts and appropriation. Make sure to RSVP to InDepthExhibition@gmail.com as we need the numbers to book the theatres. You are welcome to share this information with anyone interested (if you are on Facebook you can share the event from my Facebook art page).
See you there!
On 14 February I showcased eight paintings (6 of them never exhibited before) at RAW Awakening event in Fortitude Valley. Thanks to all my friends who came to support me. I enjoyed the night very much!
Some photos from the event can be found on my newly launched Svetlana’s Art Facebook page. I will be adding more media as it becomes available. Meanwhile, you are invited to visit the page where you can see images of my recent works, including series of acrylic and ink paintings on paper from late 2013. Make sure that you “like” the page if you are interested in receiving more frequent updates from me, as I plan to post images of artwork, announcements and other info there on a regular basis.
I have finally started uploading my 2013 paintings to the site. Visit My Artwork to see the 12 paintings I presented in my Project exhibition at QCA in October. I will be uploading more soon.
Some of these paintings will be on display at LiMEN – QCA Fine Art Graduate Exhibition that opens at QCA at 5.30 PM tomorrow and will run until 5 December. I will be at the opening, and you are welcome too!
If you happen to be at Broadbeach in October, you are very welcome to come and see my paintings presented at Blue Wall Exhibition at Royal Queensland Art Society!
I am participating in even more exhibitions during coming months. Next week Gympie Gold Rush Art Competition (opening night 9 October) and What Still Holds at PoP Gallery (84 Merivale St, South Brisbane, opening night 11 October) will start, the latter showing some of my most recent works. And there are more to come, so stay tuned!
I haven’t done many updates to this site recently as I was pretty busy. Finally I have a good reason to post as I have just won the 3rd Prize in Logan Arts Festival competition with my Spring Time:
I also had an opportunity to conduct 2 free workshops during the festival and, as a result, have been invited to run a course at Logan Art Gallery.
As a matter of fact, I have one more recent achievement to report as I have also been a winner of Marburg Art Show with Images of Marburg I painted specifically for the event!
Even if you have missed the opening day of my Re:Invention exhibition you can still come to Blueroom Cinebar (151 Baroona Rd, Paddington) during their hours of operation and see the selection of paintings, collages and prints from my last two years. The exhibition will run until early December. Everyone is welcome!
(And if you absolutely cannot be there I will be uploading images of my artwork shown at the exhibition onto my site soon!)
I am happy to invite you to my second personal exhibition that will be officially opened at 3 pm 21 October! The venue is the same as previous year, but the artwork is completely different as I will be only showing my paintings from 2011-2012.
If you’d like to attend the opening please RSVP to Kay, see contact info below. Otherwise you are welcome to browse the exhibition during approximately 6 weeks after opening. Remember that part of the proceedings from the opening goes directly to RSPCA!
A very proud announcement – I have received the first prize at this month’s RQAS exhibition with my very recent work titled Fruition:
Unlike a number of my previous works this is a non-theme award but the competition in this category is always very serious. So I consider it a very good achievement indeed!
I am happy to announce yet another award from RQAS! This time in an exhibition named “Fauves Rule” (and, as the name suggests, themed after French early XX century fauvism) my Portrait of a Girl from a recent series of live paintings was marked with Hodges Creative Award.
Even more, I have been told that the painting has already been sold and is going to New Zealand!
